Our story
There are years of experience as couriers and drivers on digital platforms such as Uber, Uber Eats, Bolt, Bolt Food, Wolt, Foodora, Liftago, Rohlík or Košík. The system is known from the inside — not from the perspective of the app, but from the perspective of the people who work on it every day.
It is clear what it means to be dependent on ratings, on the algorithm and on unilateral changes to the terms and conditions. It is clear what it is like when the platform makes a decision — and there is no one to call.
It is precisely from this experience that Platform Workers Association CZ was created. Not as a project designed at a desk, but as an organization of people who have been through it themselves.
Chairman Word
My name is Zdeněk K. Neubauer and I have spent a large part of my professional life directly in the field as a courier and driver for digital platforms. I have experienced first-hand how this system works – its advantages as well as its limits. I have seen how algorithms decide about work and income, how easily a person can lose access to their livelihood without explanation, and how flexibility often becomes just another form of dependency.
It was precisely this experience that led me to establish the Association of Platform Workers of the Czech Republic. The aim is to give a voice to people who today stand outside the traditional structures of labour protection, yet still bear all the responsibility. The goal is to openly identify problems, bring real hands-on experience, and actively participate in creating rules that are fair and workable. There is a belief that change is possible – if it is shaped by people who truly know the system from the inside.
Team
We are a team of people striving to promote fair working conditions for workers on digital platforms. Together, we advocate for couriers, drivers of alternative taxi services, and other workers to receive decent wages, health insurance, and adequate social security.
