Petition for Fair Working Conditions for Couriers and Drivers
We, couriers and drivers, face the same problem every day: the cost of gas and operating expenses are rising, but our pay per trip isn't increasing. On top of that, a new law on platform work is currently being approved. Instead of bringing us better conditions, it threatens to simply legalize the current model, in which we have many obligations but few rights. We don't want decisions about us to be made without us. That is why we are presenting the following demands:
1. Fair Compensation:
Clear and understandable rules for calculating fair compensation.
2. The Right to Appeal an Account Suspension:
There must always be a clear reason for suspending an account. We must have the right to appeal.
3. Protection from the app:
The algorithm must not penalize us for needing a break or for refusing an unfavorable order. At the same time, customers should be verified just as couriers are.
The right to collective bargaining, including for self-employed individuals.
5. Protection for those who speak up:
The ability to safely and anonymously report unfair practices and rule-breaking by platforms and fleets without losing one's job.
6. A seat at the table during legislative discussions:
Representatives of couriers and taxi drivers must be invited to participate in the ongoing development of the law and all other regulations for our sector.
